ZSh-7AN is a modification of the ZSh-7A design. Visually it looks excatly like ZSh-7A helmet. According to ZSh-7 manual, ZSh-7AN has low resistance speakers and plug. Manual also mentions that this type of helmet should be used with either KM-35 or KM-34/KM-34D oxygen masks.

ZSh-7AN helmet - front view.
Front view with visor down.
Left view - externally ZSh-7AN helmet is similar to its predecessor - ZSh-7A.
Back view.
Right view. Red stripe on the visor framing was put there by someone with paint - apparently to prevent unauthorized removal.
ZSh-7AN - view form inside. Once again, it is similar to the ZSh-7A.
Close up on the fron leather pad. This is an early production helmet with leather pad attached to the inside part of the visor housing. Later production helmets had a slightly redesigned pad which could be removed without taking the helmet apart.
Here is a picture of one of the oxygen mask's receivers. Note that while this is ZSh-7AN helmet, ID tag says ZSh-7A. I'm yet to see a ZSh-7AN helmet where such tag would be marked as ZSh-7AN. Could be that I've only seen early production helmets, or that such tag never existed.
Here is a picture of one of the ID tags. It clearly identifies helmet as ZSh-7AN and also provides helmet's size and serial number.
Another ID tag. I'm not excatly sure what kind of information it bears, but looks like month and year of the production.
And another ID tag. Once again there is something which looks like the production date - this time though it has day, month and year. ID tag also has some other information, but I don't know what it is.
A couple of shots of how the complete set would have looked like on pilot. It consists of ZSh-7AN helmet, KM-34D oxygen mask and LA-5 laringophones.
