ZSh-7AS is a modification of the ZSh-7A helmet. According to ZSh-7 manual, ZSH-7APS differs from the -AP version by having special communication package called "Variant-1M" which should be used with "Mahovik" and "Preriya" radio stations. Manual also mentions that this type of helmet is to be used with either KM-35MS or KM-35DS and KM-34DS oxygen masks. Externally, ZSh-7AS differs from ZSh-7A by having different plugs for microphone and in to aircraft communication system.

Several ID tags are located inside of the helmet, they are rather similar to ID tags found on other ZSh-7 helmets. Shown here is one that shows helmet's model, size and serial number.
Close up on the microphone connector. Note that unlike regular connectors, this one has 3-pin connection. To this date the only microphones with 3-pin connectors I've seen are on KM-35M and KM-35MS oxygen masks.
ZSh-7AS helmets have a completely new plug for aircraft's communication system not found on older Russian planes. I don't know if it's a new standard or such connectors are only used on some special aircraft.
